Development project under the H2020 framework
The Flex4Grid project from the EU H2020 program, during the period 2015–2018, focused on developing an open technological system for data management and providing services aimed at comprehensive management of electricity prosumers.
Management of electricity prosumers
The trend of increasing distributed energy sources, such as small solar and wind power plants, has led to the emergence of so-called “prosumers,” who are both producers and consumers of electricity.
Electricity production and consumption by prosumers fluctuate significantly, which can negatively affect both the power distribution system and stakeholders in the electricity market.
On the other hand, prosumers are to some extent flexible in their energy production and consumption, and with proper management of this flexibility, it is possible to mitigate the negative impacts of distributed generation and consumption of electricity.
Development project under the H2020 framework
The purpose of the project was to use a system for managing electricity prosumers to take their flexibility into account and achieve positive effects for all stakeholders.
How it works?
We carried out the validation of the electricity prosumer management system through pilot deployments in the real environment of three power distribution networks.
