Advanced ICT solutions for assisting the elderly
In the international consortium of the ReAAL SCUPS project, we developed and tested advanced ICT solutions for home care and remote rehabilitation with on-demand diagnostics. These solutions ensure independent and active living for the elderly.
Independent and active living for the elderly
The ReAAL project ran from 2013 to 2016 under the EU’s Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP). As a successor to the transitional research and development project UniversAAL, the purpose of ReAAL was to demonstrate, in a real-world environment, the advantages of using open and flexible ICT solutions for tailored or personalized delivery of a range of services that enable independent and active living for the elderly.
The goal of the project was to implement a large European pilot involving several thousand users of pilot services across seven European countries.
The project also actively contributed to the activities of Working Group C2 (Independent Living) within the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing (EIP AHA). In 2015, ReAAL signed an agreement with associated pilots in four additional countries, including the SCUPS pilot in Slovenia.
The main goal of the project
The associated ReAAL SCUPS pilot involved five Slovenian partners, aiming to adapt and integrate services with the UniversAAL platform. After adaptation and integration, the goal was to evaluate the integrated services within the pilot with both end-users and professional users.
